Director: Tressa Sanders Year: 2007 There are people who bring out the best in us and the worst in us and when a young man and woman in desperate situations answer a "Rooms for Rent" ad, they find themselves a perfect fit for a twisted new home. Cecile, their new landlord and roommate, calls to the demons within them whenever she's present. She has a deadly hobby and her two new roomies are her next project. Cecile is a social enigma. For her, the lines between right and wrong are blurred with the blood of her victims. She thrives on misery; exploiting the weaknesses of her prey. She skillfully gets them to participate in their own demise. She kills without thought, love is not in her vocabulary, and she is ruled by impulse and unrestricted desire. Sebastian has an embarrassing problem. Beneath the illusion of harmlessness is a rage yet to be unleashed. For him, emotion, impulse, and desire isn't so cut and dry and this ambivalence is just what drives Cecile to him. He is a student in need of a teacher. Unfortunately for him, the lesson is death. J.R. has an untold past one can only speculate about. Her excessive attachment to guns is a window into the fragility of her world. Kicked out of her previous home, she finds a place where her bizarre behavior is a welcomed treat. Her rudeness and firearm obsession makes her the perfect dish for Cecile's unique appetite. |
